The Sony Xperia Z4 was announced a few months back, but the new version is already out with its new tweaks and leaks. There will evidently be three phones in the Z5 family—Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium. The main difference between these phones will be the size and screen resolution. The Z5 Premium is touted to be a high-end smartphone with a 5.5inch screen and 4K resolution (4096 x 2160) display, while the Z5 settles for a 5.2inch 1080p display and the Compact sports a 4inch 720p display panel.
These will be the first Sony Xperia models to feature a fingerprint sensor.
The new design will have an ‘XPERIA’ logo on the side of the aluminium frame (it’s not clear if this will only be on the Sony Z5 Premium or all of the Z5 family). They’re all said to have 2 days of battery life, as well as a 23-Megapixel camera, and a Snapdragon 810. The phones will feature capless micro USB ports and will be water and dust resistant (IP68 certification is likely).
Prices can be really critical as the Xperia is known to be an expensive one. Take all the leaks with a pinch of salt, we’ll know exactly what’s what when Sony talks about the Z5 at IFA in a few days. Till then comment below and share your opinion.
