Google News to Supports 7 new Languages named: Romanian, Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, and Thai.
The support for Romanian, Bahasa Indonesia, Bengali, Bulgarian, Latvian, Lithuanian and Thai will be rolled out over the next few days. By adding these languages, Google News will be getting a potential audience of more than 260 million people who speak and read those languages. They will be getting news that they actually consider important, and in their own mother tongue at that, widening their world while at the same time, preserving something within them. Google promised that they will be adding even more new languages and editions over the next few months.
Google News currently has more than 70 regional editions that brings tailored news items in 28 languages across 45 countries. Each edition has specific news items relevant to that region and you can choose from the drop down menu at the homepage which edition you’d like to view.
The Google News received a huge version 2.0 release last summer after languishing as a stock Android widget for years, and its popularity has boomed in the meantime, racking up between 100 million and 500 million installs on the Play Store.
So Google’s count of supporting language has reached to a landmark of 35 new languages.
