Google MDL: Free Website Design

images (2)MDL (Material Design Lite) a way of google to reach your websites, now you have a new way to design your websites, with the cool look which everyone desired, when it was out on Android 5.0 update. MDL comes with low overhead (only 27kb gzipped) and few dependencies. MDL is powered by CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. It is a complementary implementation of the elements with Polymer. This release marks the company’s initial effort to help developers spread material design across the Internet.

Google describes Material Design Lite (or MDL) as ‘a library of components for web developers’ and has created a site getmdl where you can work through the various elements step by step, alongside downloading the packages and even a few templates to get you closer to using the design. At the moment, MDL is not optimized nor supports the use of individual components, e.g. a button. Still, for developers wanting to use just a reduced number of MDL components, it is possible to tailor a custom MDL distribution by commenting out undesidered components from material-design-lite.css and undesired scripts from the Gulpfile.
