Dropbox App Update – Material Design, Native GIF Previews and More

Dropbox App has been updated to v3.0.1 and with the new update, a material design has been introduced in user interface to the popular cloud storage app, complete with a floating action button, slide-out hamburger menu, and even a colored status bar.

Dropbox also  is adhering to the Lollipop-friendly style. After update, the app comes with the ability to add comments to files for better coordination between users working on the same document. Under comments users can tag others by @mentioning their names. The feature had begun rolling out for desktop users back in April.

The main highlight is the inclusion of Native GIF preview as earlier users had to get a third party app to view GIF files in Dropbox. Also, few bugs have been fixed and performance has improved. As per the reports, till now the update is only visible for Android users but it will sooner or later it would be available on Apple store for iOS users too.

Also from now onward it would be expected from Dropbox to roll out new Android version compatible updates sooner.
