With a simple and intuitive interface, integrated steering wheel controls and powerful new voice actions Android Auto is all set to rock the automobile world. Android Auto automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into simple cards that appear just when they’re needed. With Google maps you will get free voice-guided navigation, live traffic information, lane guidance and many more.
Android Auto works by projecting a customized version of a compatible Android smartphone onto the in-car display after the phone has been plugged in to the car via USB. Phone calls are handled over Bluetooth. This opens up the possibility to use mobile apps behind the wheel such as Google Maps, Google Play Music, Google Now and third-party offerings (with modified interfaces for the car) such as Spotify and Pandora. The interface is very simple and adapted to be used with few taps and swipes — or even completely with voice control —while driving. Android Auto is just based on Android v5.0 Lollipop, hence it will be supported only by devices having Android v5.0 or above. You can also access and stream over 30 million songs, customized playlists and more with Google Play Music. Its voice guided navigation is best-in-class and will control everything with your voice , fast and easily. In May 2015, Hyundai became the first manufacturer to offer Android Auto, making it available first in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata.
